Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

Almighty God, we pray that you will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world. Make us so thankful for the power of your love, given through your son, Jesus, that we may pray, labor and give liberally to make known that love throughout the world. Bless us that our lives may shine forth the joy and wonder we share in your name. Amen.

St. Philip's ECW

St. Philip's ECW chapter organizes a number of community outreach events yearly. The group, comprised of the women of the parish, meets regularly. The members organize and encourage other parish members, their families and friends to participate in these community outreach opportunities to maximize the potential for bringing Christ's Love to the World.

At Christmas time our ECW supports St. John's Episcopal Hospital's annual adopt-a-family event and children's toy drive and "Operation Shoebox" with Samaritan's Purse. In Spring, the ECW's "No Baby Baby Shower" benefits Incarnation Home, an organization that provides care and housing for unwed pregnant teenagers. Participants enjoy food, traditional baby shower games and fun, while providing an unwrapped baby shower gift that is given to the home for distrbution to new mothers. The ECW  sponsors the Church's annual Easter Egg-travaganza on the church lawn for parish and neighborhood children.

The ECW also seeks to reach out to and work collaboratively with New Life Church, our on-site Arabic-Christian church on these and other ministry efforts.

Other ECW-sponsored events include those that help build a sense of parish community. One such event is our "Family Game Night" events. The events are held on Friday evenings and include snacks and board games. A small donation is requested. Classic board games and packs of cards are broken out, and families and friends gather around the tables to enjoy a game of "Parcheesi" "Rummy-O" and for the bold and literary, even a game of "Scrabble,"  to name a few. The events provide families a change from television and a chance to socialize with other parish families and children.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the ECW or working with us on one of our events, please send an email to the Church's email address [ StPhilips06@aol.com ] with your name and contact information.

Thank you.
