Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a lay ministry which traces its roots back to the beginning of the history of church.

The purpose of the Altar Guild is to assist the clergy in preparing all things necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist or other sacraments and services of the church.

Its members take care of the linens, vessels, the communion bread and wine along with various items needed for Mass.

In addition, the Altar Guild also prepares not only the Altar but the entire church in preparation for holidays and various liturgical celebrations.

The Altar Guild is open to both men and women who have a desire to serve and be part of the preparation that adds order and beauty for the worship of God, and his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

If you want to volunteer to be a member of the altar guild, please reach out to our Sactistan, Barbara Dennis by emailing StPhilips06@aol.com, with the subject line of "altar guild."
