Hello Parish Members and friends!

Spread the Word! St. Philip’s Annual Parish Picnic will be on Sunday, September 9 beginning with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am. All are welcomed to attend Mass.

We’re looking forward to seeing our parish members back after their Summer travels and vacations, entertaining our parish friends again, and showing our new priest-in-charge, Mother Suzanne, how St. Philip’s does a party. So bring your coolers and vacation photos, and celebrate with our traditional cookout get-together!

Tickets are $10/person. Your friends and families are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to Linda Swalling ( or Terrie Moseder ( so we can reserve you a table! Ticket sales end August 26, so hurry!

The Picnic Committee has changed the Picnic format so we’re not asking for donations of food items.  The Church will supply the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, a “fixings bar,” a dessert, paper products, and bottled water.  We ask you bring whatever other food items/snacks and beverages you want to serve to your family and friends.  A secure space to “park” your coolers during Mass will be provided.

Attendees will have access to the church’s grills once the church food is done, if you have a need, so slap another shrimp on the barbie, mate!

Please remember that the Diocesan policy on alcohol will be observed; no drinking if you’re under 21 years of age, and no open cans of beer or alcohol please.

As usual, there will be a 50-50 drawing and gifts baskets raffle (must be present to win). Donations of completed baskets or new gift items are requested. Please tell Barbara Dennis ( if you are donating a basket or item for the event.

Oh yes, volunteers for set up and cooking are requested – of course!  Please contact Dianne Malone ("> if you can spare some time. We hope all will join in to help with cleanup and breakdown.

With great anticipation for a wonderful event and great weather,

Picnic Committee
