Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:2

St. Philip's Church has been a vital member of the Dyker Heights community in Brooklyn, New York for more than 119 years.  We are committed to serving our neighbors in three main areas.

Beginning with Baptism and the Holy Eucharist, we regularly offer sacramental experiences of God’s grace.  The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sundays at 10:30 am in addition to major Feast Days.  All baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion.  Baptism is typically celebrated four times during the year, at the Easter Vigil, on Pentecost, All Saints’ Day, and on the Epiphany.  The additional sacramental rites of confirmation, ordination, holy matrimony, confession, and anointing are celebrated occasionally.  Anointing of the Sick is typically offered immediately following the Holy Eucharist on the first Sunday of the month.  A spirit of inclusion informs our sacramental life.  Community inquiries for the sacraments, including baptism, marriage, and confession, are encouraged.  Our Priest welcomes your questions and dialogue.

Community Outreach

Our small parish is dedicated to supporting the social service needs of the community.  We regularly plan collection drives around feeding and clothing children, seniors, veterans, and animals.  Recent partners include Operation Christmas ChildBackpacks for Life, the Bay Ridge Senior Center, Reaching Out Community Services, and Pillows for Paws.  In addition, we host a weekly Bereavement Group, and our Priest is available for local hospital and homebound visits, as well as critical emergencies and funerals.

Building Partners

The buildings of St. Philip’s Church have stood since 1900 as centers of hospitality.  We continue to provide gathering space to many local partners including:

  • Boy Scouts Troop/Pack 205
  • Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon

Our commitment to offering affordable meeting space requires regular maintenance and vital capital work.
